Raj Gupta is an international artist whose artwork spans the spectrum from painting, sculpture and silk screen printing to neon, photography, video, sound and light.

One of Raj's primary focii is the creation of conceptual installations that envelop the viewer in a fully immersive experience. These absorbefacient installations combine elements of sculpture with light, neon, video and multi-channel sound. They are meant to be observed in darkness with the beholder encouraged to wander around the objects on display to assimilate the vibrancy of the diapasons of sound.

Raj's artwork derives its inspiration from a variety of physical and metaphysical sources:

• Physics and mathematics, ontology and epistemology, scientific inquiry and knowledge, and deductive and inductive truth.

• The edge of knowledge such as the completely unresolved mystery of what is life.

• The origin and expression of non-rational human emotions and feelings.

• The universal and eternal themes of resignation, acceptance, assimilation, absorption, dematerialization, death, etherealness, ephemeralness, prepotence, sublimity and transcendence.
